Whatever!

Most of you must have got a reply for your questions on seeking suggestions from people around as 'whatever'! I was wondering yesterday on getting this reply from one of my close friends to a decision that we needed to make on a certain thing that was important for both of us. Well, this reply is something that makes me stare on people who say it as to how could they be saying it so easily. Maybe they mean to say 'whatever you deciede is fine with me'. Yeah, this sentence seems more meaningful that the single word whatever. Isn't it? Maybe i too have uttered this 'whatever' many a times when conversing with people. But, henceforth i have decieded to be a bit more cautious when i use this word. It could mean a lot of things and we jus happen to utter it without giving it a second thought.

Some of the reasons why 'Whatever' doesn't qualify as a good answer to me are,
-It doesn't reflect whether it's a very well thought answer.
-It doesn't say anything on whether you have a slightest idea on what is going to happen.
-It doesn't reflect one's choice. Or rather individuals likings and disliking.
