Dada...

I wish Dada(Saurav Ganguly) hung up his cricketing gloves for good. I'm saying this because i'm a huge fan of his. I emphasise the word huge fan. I don't need to support the fact of being a huge fan of his because i know i love him as a cricketing fan and it doesn't need me to prove this fact. I cannot see him struggle in the IPL Twenty20. He is bleeding now. I agree he had a good innings some matches ago but then a flashing bat now and then is not enough to stay in contention. It's not what is good for cricket and himself. What he is scoring is not what is expected from him consistently.
He is an extra ordinary man. The prince of kolkota! Boy, i remeber enjoying his strokes, cuts and towering sixes in the late ninties and strat of this century. It was joy watching him dismiss anything and everything in the offside to the boundary. His menace earned him 'The god of offside' title. He earned place for himself in the team. Scripted a comeback for himself. Not once, but twice. !! The second comeback speaks in volumes about his grit and determination to succeed. He was dumped from the team when he was the captain of the team. Captaining Indian side was no joke. He built an excellent team was instrumental in getting those required wins for the nation. Now that he has proved all his critics wrong with a fairy tale comeback he should now re think where he now stands. He is in that stage of his career where a little wrong move will end his career in not a very good fairy tale ending. He might just get rejected to be selected and now age is not also on his side to fight back a comeback again. So why not fade away with grace than being told to leave? i think this happens and had happened with lot of players in the past. NOt only in this sport but a lot of others. I don't blame them. Its bound to happen. The love for the game is such that their minds are not ready to accept the fact that it's their time up. There are some other players on the blocks fresh and better than him waiting for a chance. Why not give them and the team an opportunity and do a world of good for fans like me and be remembered till eternity? i wish it's time he made me proud and a million others proud too again.
